Rob's Cell Phone Edit: Damn Am Atlanta Vine Out

I've been hooked on this new video app called Vine that limits you to six second posts. All weekend long, I didn't get any regular clips for a cell phone edit because I was busy blowing it up on the Vine feed for my own and the Skatepark of Tampa. So, my cell phone edit is nothing but my six second Vine posts all strung together to tell the story of one of the most fun Damn Ams in recent times. The road trip element and the crew we're with made it so good.

Rob's Cell Phone Edit: Tampa Pro Behind the Scenes

Not only did I have multiple cameras in your face all weekend, I also had my phone out filming everything. Here's my weekend at Tampa Pro shaved down to six minutes.

The Story: Andrew Reynolds Arrested at Tampa Pro

Over a decade ago, Officer Perry, a friend of ours through his son who was a local at the Park, arrested Andrew Reynolds at Tampa Pro. Officer Perry had no idea who he was. Andrew did what he could to get out of it while in the back of the police car, using the fact that he's a pro skater in video games and with his own shoe. I got the story right from the source today as Officer Perry stopped by to visit the Park. What a great Tampa Pro memory from over the years. Tampa Pro 2013 is next month. Get the full schedule here and will call tickets at skateparkoftampa.com/tickets. It's not just the 19th Annual Tampa Pro, it's 20 years of Skatepark of Tampa and we want you here to be a part of it from March 22 - 24.

100k Blockbuster Photos Coming Soon

Yesterday I was invited to hang out at the Zumiez 100k thing in Colorado where most of the industry and many of your favorite pros go to struggle at snowboarding and party for the first big event of the year. I was star struck by skateboarders and Hollywood at the crowd that was there. The party photos are so epicly epic that I had to make a "coming soon" trailer for them. I'll get to those tomorrow after I finally get some rest from a long trip home.

I Can't Just Skate: I Always Have to Play With My Stupid Phone

I'm trying to get better at two things: skateboarding and being a digital ninja. One is easier than the other. Here's yet another minute of a Sunday morning at Turtle Ditch in downtown Tampa, my go to spot to assure myself of how tricks slip through your fingers like sand as you get older. It's a bit frustrating but all you can do is make a joke of it. I hope you're learning tricks instead of losing them like me:

South Africa Cell Phone Edit

HiDefJoe is working on our Maloof Money Cup South Africa SPoT Life episode. For now, I've got a cell phone edit. After four or five days of being in South Africa and filming everything that happens with my phone, I've whittled it all down to this. A little bit of Johannesburg, Nelson Mandella's house, random skate spots, baby lion attacks, the Maloof Money Cup Contest, etc. If you have no plans tonight, don't forget you can see all the amazing skating from the Finals Brackets on the big screen in theaters across the US. We will all be going to the one showing at Brandon Mall Regency 20 at 7:30pm tonight.

Montreal Lurk and the Empire Backyard Party

Schaefer, Pat Stiener, HiDefJoe, and I spent the weekend in Montreal to help run the Empire Backyard Party. We were up there a day early to get started on some SPoT Life stuff and roll around. An episode is coming up later today, but for now, I got a bunch of photos and of course a cell phone edit: Empire Backyard Party and a Lurk Through Montreal. Our weekend in Montreal shaved down to 4 minutes:

Unofficial US Open Video: Rob Meronek's Cell Phone Edit

This is really only interesting if you're me, my friends, or maybe my mom or something. Yep, I got another cell phone edit. My job at US Open on Huntington Beach where we hosted Coastal Carnage, Damn Am Huntington Beach, and the Nike/Converse Demos included everything from shooting photos to integrating our instant scoring system with the webcast. In between ripping skateboarding from Jaws, Sebo Walker, and more, there was partying and other sideshows like dudes on wheelchairs dropping in on the vert shark. Here's the whole weekend shaved down to five minutes as seen on my phone.

Behind the Scenes: Cell Phone Edit Overdose

Here's another edit from my phone of some random spots around Copenhagen, with a quick visit to Christiania and session in the bowl before we have to head to work at the Contest for the Finals. After that was the usual raging dance party at the Skatepark where we worked all night to get the edit for the day done, while sort of partying on the side the whole time. What a weekend. Thanks to everyone at Copenhagen Pro who made it so fun: Our Last 24 Hours in Copenhagen 2012: Some Skating, Some Partying, Some Randoms.
And the day before that...I've got the last day and a half in Copenhagen shaved down to eight minutes of cell phone footage, consisting of everything from working with my good friends, meeting new skate homies on the streets who explain everything from pronunciation to how health care works, the general culture here and how PDA is very common, and more. We've been doing the classic "work hard and play hard" here while we're in town to run Copenhagen Pro: Copenhagen Denmark: Skateboarding, New Local Friends, and Working.

Cell Phone Edit: Our first 40 hours in Copenhagen

I think I got maybe two hours of extra-light-half-awake-sleep on the redeye flight here with Porpe and HiDefJoe. Right from landing early morning, we went straight to work and skating and then on to a hard bar tour. Here's a sample of our first 40 hours wide awake in zombie mode in Copenhagen, filmed and edited on my phone: Our first 40 hours in Copenhagen.
