I can't believe it's been 10 years of us doing Damn Am in Volcom's parking lot. From Dylan Rieder winning the fisrt one back in 2001 to the new crop of rippers today, it's been an amazing decade of making lots of new friends in skateboarding and watching people grow up and turn pro, or not. Today was set up and check-in along with practice. Before I got locked down at the check-in desk all day, I shot these few photos.

Big Al, Halloween decorator.

Please wear a costume on Sunday and join us in looking silly. I guarantee you your costume will not be anywhere near as embarrassing as mine.

Proper crucifixion.
Screwed.
Every year, there's only enough budget to change one or two small things on the course. Notice anything different here?
Manchild checks in. It's going to be a great weekend of good skating from new and old friends.

Damn Am at Costa Mesa: Arrival and Setup

Things start out pretty dull with construction and clean-up. I also spent some time with Manchild, Curren Caples, and Devin Bagnoli. Devin is one of many who are experiencing their first weekend in California. Finally, thanks to Volcom for taking us through the store for a shopping spree on Volcom gear.
