Thanks to the SPoT staff for the course demolition
and Team Pain and Schaefer for the course construction
. Here it is, fully completed for 2013. Hope you enjoyed free skating for the few weeks of our annual housekeeping. We return to regular prices to skate today with the new course being done and ready for you to rip. See you here and thanks for the 20th year of support.
Your old familiar ledge, now on real ground.
Crash is vacuuming our living room before guests arrive.
I spy Schaefer already contemplating changes and improvements to be made.
Do you give it the thumbs up like @dailybs
? Let us know in the comments below. See you at the Park!
Bonus Photos: Construction a Decade Ago
We're celebrating 20 years of Skatepark of Tampa, born on January 1, 1993. The nostalgia is at an all time high for us here. Especially when five years into this, we would routinely ask ourselves "what are we going to be doing in 10 years."
That question tended to come up especially during moments
at the height of
while we were already in our late 20's knowing
damn well we should be more grow'd up. It's nice to see decades later,
the answer to that question is "the same thing we're doing right now." I'll
be taking you on a lot of memory lane trips through photos over the next few weeks
and of course, don't forget about our "20" Year Experience
weekly interviews with pros and other industry icons that were here over the years to witness it. Here are a few photos from
course and Shop construction about a decade ago.
This is the construction crew from 2002: Brian Schaefer, Brent Kronmuller, John Burgess, Sean Albright, and Keith Works.
Back in 2002, we had not yet built our new offices right there in that spot where the vert ramp used to be.
The east side of the Shop today was the Snack Bar and lounge back in 2002. Things have grown a bit since then thanks to your support.
Shop expansion in 2003.
Shop expansion in 2003. What a decade since. I'm looking forward to a few more.
