I've no fear that they might desert me"

Wit-E back with another sneaker review, this time I am here to talk about what is arguably the most anticipated SB release in years. Aside from red Supreme Dunk low released in 2012, I can't recall a time in the last number of years where this many people were talking about an upcoming SB release. When Nike SB and Nicky Diamonds first collaborated back in 2005 as part of the team manager series, the Dunk low that released in August of 2005 was an instant hit. Even though the design was highly anticipated and sought after, I remember going into SPoT a few weeks after the release and there still being pairs available. Fast forward to present day and combine the level of hype surrounding sneakers along with the 15+ years of brand reputation that Diamond Supply Co. has established, and I expect things to be much different this time around. When rumors began circulating about Nike SB possibly making retros of popular Dunks, I admit I was not a fan, but this Dunk low to Dunk high revamp is something I can get behind. For this release they stayed true to the OG design. The upper is all leather with the main color being the same aqua that was used on the originals. The black accents feature a faux croc print that is embossed into the leather along with a matching heel tab. This is the only real difference between the highs and the lows. The print is a slightly different design and not as engraved into the leather as it was on the lows. They have a chrome Swoosh and silver stitching along the heel panel. The nylon tongue is aqua with a black tag that features Nike SB x Diamond branding in silver. A caucasian midsole and black bottom finish off the design. A set of black laces and a set of aqua laces come with the sneakers and they have a standard black Zoom Air insole. Overall I am pleased with these kix. I wish the croc print was more like the OGs, but that is the only complaint I have with them. After the primo quality of the Year Of The Horse release and these being on point, it is looking like 2014 might be the return of Nike SB.

Release is this coming Saturday, February 8th, at 8am EST on skateparkoftampa.com, and in-store at SPoT Ybor at noon. The retail is $108 + tax, and they are available is sizes [4 - 13]
