In the early 1980s, Steve Caballero invented the fakie 360 ollie, which you know as the Caballerial. This happened on a tranny. I should say on a transgender to be more PC haha. Lance Mountain and Neil Blender wanted to learn Caballerials too, and lets be real here, who didn’t, but they couldn’t quite figure out how to land them. As the story goes they tried them instead with a mute grab thrown in and called it the gay twist, reportedly because to them it felt like the gay way to do a Cab. I’m assuming that Lance landed it first because he seems to always get more of the credit but I wasn’t there for that session. Later another version of the fakie three, this one backside grab, came into existence. It was dubbed the les twist. The les is short for lesbian.

In this day and age, is it politically correct to call the perceived whacker version of a trick gay? Should we protest outside of Lance’s house? Petition for a name change? Maybe it should be the LGBT twist? The les twist could become a backside grab LGBT. But then again that doesn’t sound much better does it. Or should we just call them Cabs with grabs and avoid the entire issue? If you’re a gay, lesbian, transgender (I’m talking to you Hillary) or bisexual skateboarder please leave your comments below.

In the mid 1980s another trick came onto the scene, it was called a sex change. Neil gets all the credit for this one. And I could do the research to find out exactly what it consisted of at the time (nose stall on a tranny to backside body varial in?), but I’m busy and I know that it involved a body varial of some sort. Nowadays anything with a body varial mixed in gets the sex change label. Tre flip sex change. Nollie inward heel sex change. Benihana sex change. Etc. I’ve recently begun referring to any sex change as a Bruce Jenner. Sometimes just Bruce. Tre flip Bruce. Nollie inward heel Bruce. Beni Bruce. Etc. Caitlyn might be more PC though.
