This footage of #jasonlee stolen from @elpatosk8 brings back fond memories of my favorite pro contest series . It was called back to the city and it took place in San Francisco . Was so fun skating and seeing all the pros from other towns not only shredding that pond where the contest was held but killing it in the streets as well . Never forget on the way to our hotel we ran into Jason and ended up skating a manual pad with him . He was killing it . Think it was the first time I seen someone do a backside flip switch manual . Smooth operator ... Happy birthday @jasonlee hope it was a special one . Hyped you still have a desire to rip .
I always loved this old vision #markgonzales graphic . For the longest I thought mark drew this of himself . When I found out it was a drawing of prince though I was already a big fan , I thought prince was that much cooler . So so heavy he is gone at 57 . I'm blown away when I think about the magnitude of his contribution to music . It's beyond ,There will never be another at that level .
My friend josh is having a fundraiser at Schooner at Sunset this saturday . He deals with spina bifida . Josh has the biggest heart and is such a trooper with the best attitude despite what he goes through . Doctors say he shouldn't skate but you can't stop a skater from skating . He charges anyways when he can . The fundraiser will help towards his ever growing medical bills since the operations have been more frequent . There will be raffles , auctions and live music from 1pm-1am . I play at 6 . Big thnx to my sponsors @elementbrand , @fender , @spyoptic and @vansskate for donating product .
In the mid 90's I use to have so much fun spending weeks at a time staying at @chrispastras spot in s.f . We'd skate and play a lot of music . Always recording on his tascam 4track . We acquired a bunch of songs . At times having Ethan fowler , Tommy Guerrero and Matt Rodriguez jamming with us . Called ourselves the bucket brothers . Some of these songs ended up in stereo's tin can folklore video . Playing music during the day we'd always end up skating at night . This photo is from one of those night sessions . 📷 @lukeogden #bestoftimes
This old Powell peralta ad was an attempt to lash back at the rise of new small skater owned skateboard companies wanting to take them out in the late 80s early 90s . Steve Rocco owner of world industries led the charge . It was a trippy time because the old model of how a skateboard company ran things was on it's way out . Steve drove that point home with an onslaught of very clever funny ads poking fun of and highlighting all the lame aspects of the big skate company mentality . He really went after Powell Peralta and by this time had them on the ropes , wasn't pretty . During the shoot I remember thinking great not only do none of these clothes or shoes fit but this is exactly what Steve is talking about , wow this is really bad but super funny at the same time . #sweatypits
Never forget being in high school and going to the movies with a bunch of my skate buddies to see police academy 4 . We were shocked and super hyped to see these rippers appear on the screen . Most of them were either stunt doubles or played friends of the delinquent skaters that were written into the plot . One of the said delinquents was a super young David Spade , actually all these dudes look like babies .Stacey Peralta recruited the skaters for the movie , so as you can see it's mostly the bones brigade except for Chris miller . Big blast from the past seeing this clip from the credits .
If you've ever enjoyed any epicly later'd episodes on @vice , then you know you have this ripper to thank #patrickodell @epiclylaterd It's so rad that he's been doing such a great job with these for so many years and they just keep getting better and better . If by chance you've never seen any make the effort to check them out . Great mini docs of so many skate Heroes . Thnx so much Patrick ... Much love #leicam6

The first song I ever learned on guitar was rock you like a hurricane by the 80s metal band scorpions . At the time it was like nirvana's teen spirit. Always on the radio and super easy to learn . Where I lived in San Jose you couldn't walk a few blocks with out hearing some stoner cutting school smoking cigarettes with his garage door wide opened cranking that tune from his amp on guitar . Big big Thnx @tommyguerrero for having me on bs with t.g and for taken me down memory lane . Super Fun .....episode link in @realskateboards bio
My fav photo of @jimthiebaud. Way back ( mid80s ) when I rode for Alva and skating a lot of amateur street contest , Jim was one of those Powell Peralta guys dominating . If we showed up and saw him out on the coarse any hope of winning was out of the question . Thnx for all you do for skating . So rad for so many years . You've got my vote for hardest working man in the biz . One reporter's opinion of coarse but much respect Jim 💪🏽
