Altamont Demo at SPoT

Altamont was kind enough to sponsor this year's Back to School Bash, and to really kick off the fun weekend an Altamont Demo was scheduled. A lot of the guys who skate for Altamont also skate for Emerica. The problem with that is that their highly anticipated video, Stay Gold, is premiering around the country and the Emericans are all booked up. Luckily for us, Kenny Hoyle skates for DVS and came through. Garrett Hill was also going to skate, but unfortunately hurt himself the day before. Thanks a ton to Kenny Hoyle for coming through and ripping and hanging with the very appreciative and excited local kids.

SPoT local Derrick Wynn was snapping these frontside shuvs down the stairs all afternoon.
Sebastian Vargas is a SPoT loc and a repeat noseblunt slider.

Jay Brundege is a Sole Tech bid'ness guy. He installs displays all up and down the east coast, so you've seen his work in your local shop. I made him get a photo. "So people can know I skate?" he asked. "Industry types skating is on the decline in 2010," I replied. Backside 50 around the corner.
This is how Dylan and I got the Demo jumping. Big up to da Three 6!
Porpe is very excited, or "mucho fuerte," depending on which side of the language barrier you fall.

Chris Jata was snapping some of his usual tricks all evening. Sky high frontside flip.

Porpe battled over this back tail for about 30 minutes, even having a shouting match with himself. He put it down and was all smiles though.

This is my homie Poochie. His real name is Nikolas and he has a crazy-ass Greek last name no one can pronounce. Nollie heel.

Kenny Hoyle ripped all evening despite the heat. He killed the ledge and this switch heel 5-0 was done with ease.

Element Session at SPoT

Sometimes when you "hail Mary" it, you get a shocker and actually make it, your jaw dragging on the ground as you roll away, arms in the air. That happened a few times during the Best Trick Contest we had with the Nyjah Huston, Evan Smith, and Levi Brown as judges during the Skate With the Element Team session at Skatepark of Tampa. Thanks to everyone that stopped by and to the Element Team that hung out all afternoon with everyone.

Thanks a ton to the Bones Bearings Team for braving the cold and touring around Florida after the Am, ending up back in Tampa on the 14th to skate with us. Of course the guy that outshined the rest was Evan Smith, who completely destroyed the session in his usual stylish and nonchalant way. We even saw TM Vern Laird skate for a bit. Enjoy the photos.
