Nerdsday Thursday: Tampa Pro 2013 Broadcast Statistics and Replay

On Nerdsday Thursday this week, we're taking a look at the traffic to the site this weekend during Tampa Pro. I'm looking at data from Friday through Sunday. Let's say some mad woman is stalking Schaefer and visits the site 47 times throughout the weekend. This nut case will count as one unique visitor. When it comes to total visitors, that stalker will be counted 47 times. So, now that you know the difference between unique visitors (139,471) and total visitors (273,487), let's dive into the data. I took some time to make it pretty with these infographic things everyone seems to be using these days. We'll be back to regular boring CPA style next week. Check out Nerdsday Thursday: Tampa Pro 2013 Broadcast Statistics.

Last year's increase blew us away, so we didn't really except another 42% increase in unique visitors this year, but that's what happened. Thank you all for stopping by. Another amazing point is that only one third of the traffic was from the United States. Nearly 19% of visitors that weekend were from Brazil.

Of course it's no surprise that mobile visitors continue to skyrocket. Nearly 74% of you are on Apple products. I'm convinced that the majority of Android users are your grandparents and people who don't know or care how to really use technology. These are people who actually still use their phones as phones and not as a computer.

Thanks

Thanks again for stopping by for Tampa Pro. You can get all the coverage, photos, videos, and results here. I can't wait for next year.

Sunday Broadcast Replay

The full replay of Sunday below has the Semi-Finals, Moat Race, and Finals. Thanks for tuning in!

The list includes three Thrasher Skaters of the Year (Grant Taylor, David Gonzales, and Leo Romero) plus many of today's top pros. Nerdsday Thursday: Dropping Pants

by Rob on Thursday, February 14, 2013

This grid shows the top 10 companies in the Pants/Jeans category. For the last decade, Krew dominated most years. It's interesting to see eS creep in there before they threw in the towel. Split might look odd to you in there in 2005, but don't forget they sponsored Tampa Pro that year so of course that directly affects your brand's performance.

Nerdsday Thursday: How Old Are Top Am Skaters?

by Rob on Thursday, February 07, 2013

Let me start with a description of the data. We've been doing Damn Am since 2001 when Brian Schaefer decided that the world needed to experience firsthand the vibe and style of Tampa Am. Since then, there have been 5,239 Damn Am contest placings consisting of 1,655 unique skaters.

Nerdsday Thursday: Statistics on Skateboarder Ages Over The Years

by Rob on Thursday, January 31, 2013

It's been way too long since a nerd out on numbers post, so let's dive into some digits. I was interested in how the ages of skaters has looked over the years. What would you guess? Are skaters generally younger these days than ten years ago or are they older or both? Let's take a look starting with 2004.
