The Theories of Atlantis crew, including riders from Magenta, Polar, Hopps and Traffic, came on their Escape from New York Tour and stopped by SPoT on Saturday for a demo. Dustin Eggeling from Hopps, is a native to Tampa so he had no problem starting it off with Switch Tre on the hip.
Ben
Ben Gore No Comply to Disaster. Magenta has a good pro on their hands.
Cash was blasting these laybacks on the quarter. Schaefer had to school the announcers on their trick naming.
Jimmy Mastrocolo - Nose Grind pop out.
Yonnie Cruz- Switch Crook! Yonnie is from Tampa and just recently turned pro for Traffic. It was easy to see why... Congrats!
Yonnie also flying over the pyramid with a Nollie Flip.
Piro Sierra rips. Just one of many Tampa locals. Here's a proper Fakie FS Boardslide.
Piro Back Smith!
Josh Stewart, the man in charge of TOA Distribution and Static 1-5 continues to kill it filming the whole tour. Be on the lookout for their own video capturing the whole tour.
Ben
Ben Gore- Front Heel on the kahuna.
Kevin Coakley- FS Half Cab Flip.
Dane Brady popping out and back in from a Back 50-50!
Dustin back 50-50 up the hubba!
Kevin Coakley did this Switch Back 50-50 down the hubba so good.
Jimmy Lannon, another Florida local, did a textbook Nollie Flip to close out the demo.
After everyone was done skating they had the whole team sign and give out a board.
These dudes killed it! Thanks for coming out and staying the weekend.?
Saturday night after the demo The Bricks hosted a Pro Party for Yonnie Cruz. The night had just started but these dudes were here early. AlBow, Dylan Perry, Kevin Coakley and Yonnie.
Jimmy Mastrocolo, Cash, Justin Nixon and PJ Castellano all showed up.
SPoT employees Derick Glancy and Ian Perronne always show up when theres a party.
Mikah Collins, Eric Mckenney, Brian Schaefer, Derick and Ian are all behind what goes on at SPoT and with all events. If you see them around, say whats up!
You know it was a good party at The Bricks when the ladies show up. Don’t get too excited, they all came with a skater that's probably better than you.
Pee Wee Kirks and Dustin Eggeling showed up.
The Bricks was filling up. I feel bad if you were in Tampa and missed this party.
Josh Stewart with his lady.
The orange shirt crew! Jimmy Lannon and Dave Cruz.
The real Shaqueefa OGs: Stephen Buggica, Tommy Presley and Scotty Conley. These dudes are a complete DIY company but continue to kill it with their clothing and Mix Tapes. Check out some of their stuff in our shops.
Ybor is a great place if you’ve never been, but always be aware of the singing drunk bums walking up. How’d he get that PBR?
Thanks to Ronnie and the rest of the bartenders for keeping us hooked up with drinks all night.
End rolling through in style.
Piro Sierra came through!
#SQUAD
After The Bricks settled down, the party moved across and down the street to Res Bar. Chris Jata was already there playing pool.
The night started getting blurry around this point and we all had to wake up tomorrow to skate, so everyone started going home. Congrats again to Yonnie Cruz for going pro for Traffic! Here he is with his lady.?
Sunday was the final day these dudes were in Tampa before they moved on with their tour. We all met up at The Bricks and SPoT Ybor before skating Ybor and around Downtown Tampa.
After everyone showed up, the crew skated off through traffic to find some spots to skate.
This was the first spot of the day. I know Jimmy Lannon got some clips here before so this Ollie over the fence came at ease.
Brandon Carroll backed him up with the FS 180.
Next spot was the plaza in Ybor. Kevin Coakley Ollied up to the bank and stuck this nose manny the ledge.
Would it still be a TOA skate day without a propped up grate? Probably, but Yonnie made this thing look easy even though I promise you it is not. Here he is blasting an Ollie to the sidewalk.
Traffic, Magenta and Hopps riders. Everyone there is a family. After the session in Ybor we packed everyone into 2 vans and headed into Downtown.
Piro with a back lip at Brick City.
Ben
Ben Gore - ollie to nose manny on the bank.
Ben
You may remember this bump to bench from Reynolds' SOTY part, but years later it got moved a little. Ben Gore wasn’t afraid to get his feet wet on this Ollie.
Dustin with a stylish Nollie 180 Switch Manny.
Jimmy Lannon, FS 180 Fakie Manual.
Kick back, relax and enjoy the skating these dudes put in for.
Ben
This was the last spot of the day, CapTrust. I’ve only lived here for a few years but never knew about this ledge to downhill back into the garage. Ben warms it up with the Back 50-50.
Dane Brady with a FS Tail. He had his water bottle in his hands the whole session!
Ben
The greatest thing about teams like this coming out is you get to see great skating from people you might not have noticed before. Ben Gore killed it all weekend with his skating and positive attitude. MVP.
Ben
Ben shut down the session and the day with this Back Tail to Bank. Thank you to all the TOA dudes for coming out and killing it all weekend, and another big congrats to Yonnie Cruz for turning pro!
