This was our second annual Boards for Bros Build Day in Honor of Matt Woods, and I must say it was amazing. Have to say thank you to everyone that came out. We planned and built over 200 boards and also taught some kids how to skate for the first time.
Michelle Box is the leader of Boards for Bros and was out front signing people up to help volunteer.
Uncle Sam and Josh held down the shop and had people donating board parts or cash to get in and enjoy this event with us.
These people are dedicated. Okay so here's how the process goes…
Unwrap the wheels and bearings…
Put bearings in the wheels… Also a huge thank you to Mini Logo for donating so much.
Put the wheels on the trucks…
Grab one of the many boards you see in front of you…
And finish that sucker up. Sterling, our newest employee, took time out of his day to help.
This aint no drill, brother.
We even had a sticker station for the B4B and SPoT stickers.
Chris P. was out there spraying grip tags and your name if you asked him nicely.
We cannot forget who this is all in honor of, Matt Woods. We still have this fixture if you remember it from last year; and I don’t think we’re ever getting rid of it.
Eric going in for the win with no stops.
HOT 101.5 came out and had DJ for the event and let everyone on their station know what was going on!
They weren’t afraid to try out the concrete, even after last weekend's shenanigans.
Like I said, we had a lot of volunteers and they helped everyone get the hang of it.
FS Air for the kids, Eric Mckenney.
These lovely ladies came out from A Positive Spin and brought a couple of kids here for the first time and we were able to give them boards and teach them how to skate.
Wesley was in the mix.
Its great to see how much everyone enjoyed it.
Derek found a board with his name on it.
It was Nathan's birthday so Schaefer sat down with him and helped him put his first board together.
It's always a good time when you’re on four wheels.
Sam was one of our volunteers and he was killing it. He had all of these kids lined up waiting to learn how to drop in.
There are many ways to ride your board.
Grill Masters. Free Burgers and Dogs and don’t forget the toasty buns.
Best shirt award goes to...
Smiles everywhere.
Once the grill starting going off, I don’t think I ever saw that line die down.
Good to see Derick and Jack out here with their ladies.
Is that a Brian Sumner pro model?
Holy smokes that went quickly. 200+ boards built and ready to go.
I call this the VIP Section. Brian, Michelle and the Woods Family.
Group photo! Thank you again... this was a great turn out. For more info on how you can donate to Boards For Bros, visit BoardsForBros.org.
