This past July, I was invited to attend the Nike SB Ambassador Summit in Portland, Oregon, where we did everything from tour the Nike campus to visit one of the Street League stops. One of the most memorable moments of my trip was when the Ambassadors were introduced to the Nike Lunar One Shot. As the shoe was passed around the room of fellow skaters, two of the shoe designers told us what they drew their inspiration from and how the One Shot came to fruition. Ever since then, I have been eagerly awaiting its arrival and have heard many different rumors as to when the shoe would drop. Then about a week ago all the new Mint blue boxes started to show up in our warehouse. Everyone usually gathers around to see what new shoe Nike has come up with and this was no different; the One Shot had finally arrived and it did not disappoint.

A few days later we grabbed a couple pairs and took them to Lakeland Skatepark for an employee/team session. The shoes were broken in straight out of the box; no need to throw them in the microwave. It is clear that a lot of time was put into this shoe to make a cupsole that acts like a vulcanized Janoski while also providing protection with the Lunarlon sole. The toe cap has a printed rubber that provides protection in all the necessary areas. A sockliner is a good addition to this shoe, and once you slip your foot in, it feels like there is barely anything between the board and your foot, which provides superior boardfeel. Through the entire day the Nike Lunar One Shot held up with supreme durability.

After you check out our video from our day at Lakeland, you can order yourself a pair here starting Saturday, January 4, 2014.
