SPoT X Nike SB "Gasparilla" Dunk Release Photos

On Saturday 2/13 SPoT shared an amazing collaboration moment with one of our closest retail partners NikeSB, by bringing the story of Pirate John Gaspar and the Gasparilla Parade to life through the release of Nike Footwear, Sean Cliver, PS Stix, and SPoT Apparel.

Two years in the making, this was SPoT's fourth collaboration with NikeSB. In traditional SPoT fashion the launch was elevated, while connecting with the consumer at eye level. Over 150+ sneaker and Gasparilla enthusiasts were in line at 6am in 40 degree weather to be the first to get their hands on this premium product collection.

The creation of the Nike SB Dunk High Premium was a true collaboration between some of the industry's greatest designers. The materials featured thick leather, embroidered pirate swords, Flash technology on the swoosh and a unique parrot feather material on the back heel. To further elevate the imagery associated with the project, we teamed up with skateboard graphic artist Sean Cliver to design the tongue tag and specific packaging for the release.

The launch experience was elevated even more by having Sean on site to sign every item and interact with the customers. The previous night, we hosted an event that put a focus on the product and the original artwork created for the custom sock liner and skateboard deck with artist Sean Cliver at SPoT owned cafe, The Bricks.

The event created a loud buzz around the project and NIKE Dunks. The fraying of the feather material and its ability to be unique for each customer is being passionately discussed in skate shops and message boards. The response has been overwhelmingly positive and reminiscent of a quickstrike for this inline SYL release.

A huge thank you to NikeSB, Sean Cliver, Paul Schimdt, and everyone past and present at SPoT for playing a major role in bringing this collaboration to life. Another great thank you to the Tampa Bay community for 23 years of support and everyone across the globe, shops and customers alike, who helped support this project.
