TBT - Jeff Phillips Speed Freaks

Posted on Thursday, April 27, 2017 by Paul

Jeff Phillips, inventor and master of the Phillips 66, was one of the rawest vert guys of the late 80s. Coming out of Dallas, Texas he skated with brute force and energy. This Speed Freaks part is from 1989 and came toward the tail end of his career, but it gives you the gist of what he was all about. Check those invert fakies. He was also famous for blasting the frontside boneless like no other (to fakie too!) and we can all look to Jeff for inspiration to rip harder. Bummer of the century, Jeff took his life in 1993 and everyone felt it. For more on his story check this Loveletter from Grosso. So try to be like Jeff kids, but stay alive.
