In a surprise (and super last minute) addition to last weekend's Clash of the Crews contest, Vans worked their magic and got the legendary Ray Barbee to come and play music for us Saturday night at The Bricks. The official after party consisted of Ray's amazing music, plus some black and white photography he has been working on over the years. We also got local rockers Jensen Serf Co. to perform. All in all, it was an incredible weekend and we're grateful to Vans and Ray for making it happen.
We are out here at the Bricks in Ybor City for an evening of Music and Photography from Ray Barbee courtesy of Vans. Let’s go inside for a beer…
The Bricks was popping all night, and almost every Crew came out to enjoy some cold drinks, awesome music and amazing company. Thanks to the Bricks staff for holding it down all night!
The Crowd was thick for Ray’s set, and every single person was feeling it. It felt like a Transworld montage out there…
He was really jammin’!
Ray also had a nice selection of 35mm Black & White prints that he processes and prints himself. Leica recently produced a short documentary with Ray if you want to find out more about his process.
Big fan of this one…
It was a lot of the audience’s first time seeing his photos in person, all thanks to the good folks at Vans.
Speaking of Vans, here’s Morgan with a handful of the SPoT Crew. Thanks for all your hard work this weekend and throughout the year Morgan!
St. Pete Locs.
Brian and Billy got pretty damn close over the Weekend…
After the show, Ray was kind enough to hang out and talk music, skating and photography with everyone at the show.
“You have to get a photo of me and Ray tonight.” Anything you say King!
He even signed a poster of an older Indy ad that Kelsey has been holding onto…
You can’t tell but she has a huge smile on her face in this photo.
Thank you again to Ray Barbee for joining us on this amazing night and shout out to Vans for bringing him to the Bricks! Goodnight!
