The 4th of July is a holiday commemorating when congress adopted the declaration of independence which granted us freedom from Great Britain. Not sure where all of this "lets get drunk and blow shit up" mumbo-jumbo came from, but I'm not complaining. Freedom is defined as the quality or state of being free with the absence of restraint. Now I know what your thinking, "WTF, Pat? What does all of this have to do with skating?" Without freedom, there would be no skateboarding. We would all be slaves to America's bogus ideals with no such way to shape our lives creatively. There would be no naked 540s, no old man bowl jams, no loop outs, nothin'. Our four-wheeled turning system attached to a piece of wood is probably the best exercise of freedom you can do as a human; no friggin' rules, am I right? When Frank had the idea of shooting off fireworks with the SPoT dudes, I was pretty hyped, so I invited myself as per usual.
