Jay Kafcas' new pool provides a rare opportunity to skate some new terrain in Tampa.
| Jay's Pool By Ryan T. ClementsNovember 29, 2001 I received a phone call yesterday at 3pm from my buddy Jay. The conversation went something like this: Jay: Hey Ryan, my pool’s empty because I’m getting it redone. Do you want to skate it? Ryan: What do you think? Of course I do! When can we come over? Jay: Whenever you want. At 4:30pm, Barry and I arrived at Jay’s. It took a bit of getting used to, but the loveseat was a good hit. As you can see from the video, it’s pretty much the only thing that we could do anything on. The video is deceiving…the loveseat had about 2.5’ of tranny and 2.5’ of vert. Brian and Dave showed up shortly thereafter and it was a full-on session, Jay included. Opportunities like this don’t come along every day, so make sure to take advantage when they do. Sometimes I get caught up in the hustle and miss out on things, too, but this time I was there. As a skateboarder, make sure you cherish your spots and the precious moments you get to spend on your board. You never know when they might be taken away.
