411s were the best. Every two months they’d release a new video in unparalleled VHS quality, chock full of everything great that was happening in skateboarding: individual parts, spot checks, slams, tour footage, trick tips, contest coverage, and on and on. Lance Mountain as the rather uncomfortable looking host made them even better. Basically 411 offered everything you get every second of the day on the Internet minus the distractions. And so, with the 22nd Annual Tampa Pro less than two weeks away, we’re throwing it back 20 years to Tampa Pro ‘96, as it appeared in 411, issue 16. Koston handled business that year for the win, with skating that still holds up today (and although no, it probably wouldn’t win in 2016, who knows... it is Koston after all).
