August 13 to 15 is this thing the Florida gub'ment calls "Sales Tax Holiday." Basically, they are telling retailers that there isn't sales tax on certain categories of stuff. Since I didn't design our point of sale system where you can just turn off sales tax, we are instead simply discounting everything in those categories by 7%, which effectively is the price of the item without sales tax. If you live out of state where there is no sales tax, you simply get a 7% discount bonus. The Florida State gub'ment sure has made this Sales Tax Holiday a complicated accounting problem.
