Today's Battle of the Shops in Carlsbad, California was the first skateboarding event that I know of that drew police helicopters along with about 15 police cars. Some cop was around that saw a little bit of mayhem and called for enough backup to fight a war in a small country. More on that tomorrow. For now, check out the Automatic Mag's Battle of the Shops 2006 Results. Speaking of cops, my homie Shuriken Shannon is in the slammer for 45 days for assaulting a cop and couldn't skate today. Damn. That's a lot of jail house ham and cheese.
