It's not all bid'niss at ASR this weekend, even though it's a great place to get that sort of thing done. A lot of skateboard bid'niss types let out a long sigh when they think of trade shows, as if it's a necessary evil. Sure, trade shows are work and of course you have your classic stereotypes, but ASR sure has made it as fun as it can be over the years. Maybe you might be jaded if you've been to too many trade shows? I've been shooting photos and talking mad crap on the internet about it for a decade now. You can't get any more jaded than that. However, when I look back at all the good times, I look forward to going again. Here's a few that come to mind:
- 2002: Paul Zitzer mustache you a question.
- 2002: You make life long friends, and sometimes lifelong marriages.
- 2002: Remember when Harold Hunter had slam of the year?. RIP
- 2003: Jordan Richter and other long lost pro spottings.
- 2003: Anthony Mosley on Shorty's and other crazy and wacky skateboard history going down.
- 2004: Hoping the days of $7,000 dinners return, and boxing matches, too.
- 2005: Side shows and games like industry poker.
- 2005: More long lost pro sightings.
- 2005: Noobs.
- 2005: Meeting idols.
- 2006: You could end up on a boat.
- 2007: Pros and hos.
- 2007: Of course, the parties.
- 2007: Here today, gone tomorrow wacky skate knockoffs.
- 2008: Schaefer antics.
- 2008: I actually heard this mentioned in a skate bid'niss meeting just last weekend: drunk chickens.
- 2008: Boosh.
- 2008: Saddlebags.
- 2009: Blunt nosegrabs.
