Damn Am of the Year: Anthony Anaya

Posted on Friday, December 19, 2014 04:10 PM by Paul Zitzer

There’s only one contest series in the world where you can guarantee yourself a spot into Tampa Am, not that it’s easy, but hey. It’s the Damn Am. This past year the series took us to Costa Mesa CA, Atlanta, New York City, Minneapolis, Portugal, and Woodward West, and all those stops have brought us directly to this: the Damn Am of the Year. I should point out that we don’t just hand the trophy out to our favorite dude. Instead, each skater’s two best placings are used to determine their final ranking, and this time there was one pretty big surprise: None of the six winners even made the finals at any other stops. That left the door open for Anthony Anaya to no comply on through for the overall win, thanks to a 2nd in Minneapolis and a 3rd in Costa Mesa. Coincidentally I guess, Anthony is ALSO one of our favorite dudes, which is good for us considering he’s around so damn much. Yeah Anthony! Click here to read the full article and see RIDE channel's Damn Am Awards recap. P.S. Start making your plans now to skate the Damn Am in 2015 and next year this could be about you.

Here's the full list of winners from our Damn Am Awards this year.
