Today's Nerdsday Thurday is not a graph or numbers. I'm going to tell you about my friend Josh Friedburg. Josh started 411VM back in the day and is a ripping decorated veteran of the Team Manager and Industry VIP Contest at Tampa Pro over the last decade. These day's he heads up IASC, The International Association of Skateboard Companies and also brings you the Know Skateboarding App. IASC has brought you things like Go Skateboarding Day and for us bid'niss folk behind the scenes in skateboarding, the IASC Summit.
If you work in the sketchy skateboard industry or want to one day, you should get to the IASC Summit for the ultimate overdose in Nerdsday Thursday topics. I'll be there sitting quiet absorbing it all from the back of the room just like my high school days. Tomorrow is actually the last day to sign up. I'm most looking forward to:
- Bobby Kim, founder of The Hundreds, speak after reading his amazing It Is What It Isn't thoughts from back in a December article he wrote.
- Nick Tershay, the dude who started a skateboard bolts company and turned it into what Diamond is today.
- Tiffany Montgomery, who reports skateboarding industry news better than anyone I've ever seen since I've worked in skateboarding.
