Nike SB Challenge Court Shoe

Over the last year or so there has been a lot of talk about changes being made within Nike SB and Nike 6.0, and we have seen some of these changes take effect during the recent months. Even though many of the changes have been questionable in my opinion, I am happy to see some new models starting to roll out. The one which has impressed me the most so far is the Nike SB Challenge Court. Introduced by OG Nike SB rider Gino Iannucci, it is actually a reinterpretation of an old model with updated SB technology. Originally released in 1984, the Challenge Court was worn by tennis God John McEnroe when he won the Australian Indoor Championship, the Davis Cup, and the Grand Prix Tournament in Tokyo. The Nike Challenge Court was reissued in 2003, 2004, and now again in 2012 as the SB Challenge Court, a mid-top with Lunarlon insoles for max comfort. This sneaker is an excellent blend of the old with the new and definitely has me anticipating new colorways. I also like how the back of the shoe simply says "Nike," leaving the "SB" branding for the tongue and giving it a true retro look.
