#TBT: Jamie Thomas Heavy Metal

Posted on Thursday, August 20, 2015 08:49 AM by Paul Zitzer

Heavy Metal might be Jamie Thomas’ worst video part. But it’s still great, and it’s an even better history lesson for Jamie fans. The year was 1995, and looking back we get a pretty good taste of the pre hesh Jamie Thomas, and the pre dramatic slow mo Jamie Thomas, and…what’s with the disco soundtrack? You can see pretty quickly that Jamie wasn’t the Shane O’Neill of his day, but he was a work in progress. And work he did, not just on his skating and getting gnarlier and stepping up to bigger and bigger stunts, but also on pumping up the entire Toy Machine brand. In fact if memory serves, he pretty much single handedly turned it into a company that was capable of putting out Welcome to Hell one short year later. On a side note, it’s a little surprising how adept Jamie was with the switch push during a time when people were piss pedaling all over the place. Good to see. Good to see that beni too.
