Nike SB Dunk Low Concord and Janoski Lemon Twist

Posted on on Friday, April 19, 2013 by Wit-E

The quality is definitely on point this time and they are well worth the price. These sneakers were built for summertime stunting. If you don't own a pair of Janoskis, you are definitely slipping. This model is extremely comfortable and the design is versatile.

This week the day many people have been waiting for finally arrived. SPoT released the Three Squares Studio x Nike SB Janoski "Lemon Twist". I know my homie Justin is happy he no longer has me stressin' him for any new info on the release. These are designed by stylist Jordan Blackmore and feature a completely tonal outer aside from a black tongue tag with the insoles featuring Three Squares branding. I looked through a number of pairs and saw no flaws at all.

The quality is definitely on point this time and they are well worth the price. These sneakers were built for summertime stunting. If you don't own a pair of Janoskis, you are definitely slipping. This model is extremely comfortable and the design is versatile. It is great for skating or just strollin' the mall to showcase your fresh. The soft interior also makes them perfect for the beach or boating because socks are not needed, and more people rocking these in place of open-toed footwear means less nasty ass hooves I am forced to witness.

Apparently, I wasn't the only one waiting on them and they have already sold out, so we will move onto another sneaker that has been generating much hype among SB fans and Jordan fans alike. The Nike SB Dunk Low "Concord" will finally see a release date this Saturday, April 20th. Paying homage to the Jordan XI "Concord", this Dunk mimics the overall aesthetic very well by pairing white mesh paneling with black patent leather on the upper and they are finished off with icy soles. They come with white Jordan laces and an extra set of black Nike SB laces. I wish the entire toebox was patent leather like the Space Jam Dunks, but I still think they are dope and appreciate another Nike SB nod to Jordan Brand.

I hope they continue this theme and give us Cool Grey XI dunks and Playoff XI dunks. I also wouldn't mind some Infrared VI Dunks if they continue to do Jordan inspired SB releases...I also wish Nike would get back to doing 420 themed releases, but maybe they're pushing for a cleaner image. They are the 'in-store only' release for April so unfortunately we will not have these online. This is one of the rare SB releases where Nike set a release date, and as a fan of Nike SB I prefer when they set release dates because it makes things easier for people wanting to buy them. Box price is $85, although SPoT is charging $83, yes, that is correct, actually charging UNDER MSRP. For everybody reading this whose local shop charged over $85, I feel for you. I also think instead of going on sneaker websites and forums to complain about it, you should take action and call Nike to let them know about the shady sh!t that is going down from a customer's perspective.

Recently Nike seems more aware and is taking steps to resolve some of these issues. I won't be surprised to see changes this year across the board for all Nike retailers which will benefit us as consumers. In addition to the shop issues, one thing I hope will get addressed this year is quality control. The pair of Concord Dunks I have shows a lot of glue along the patent leather where it meets the midsole and the midsole itself looks as if it was painted white and has streaks. I have never seen anything like it. They weren't bad enough to stop me from purchasing, but hopefully soon Nike can remember how to manufacture Dunks that don't have glue overflow where the midsole connects to the upper (fingers crossed).

The Concord Dunks go on sale Saturday, April 20th (420!) inside SPoT Ybor at noon in sizes 4-14 for $83 + tax.
