Skateboarding has been accentuating its artistic side the last few years more than it has in decades. But the pendulum swings. It’s gone from handrail hammer heavy, to ledge dance tech, to transition only at times. In the early 90s skaters were going slower and slower and winging and dinging tricks with a focus on progression with little to no regard to technique or speed. That sounds like a dis, but it’s not. Things change, and in ’93 Brett Marks represented a flip trick frontier that has to this day only been broached by a select flicktastic sort. And keep an eye out for the laser double flip OG SPoT clip.
