A little context: in the mid to late 80s there were a grip of pro vert skaters that were hitting the streets, but we were only just starting to see actual STREET pros. The top three in my opinion were Gonz, Tommy Guerrero, and today’s TBT Natas Kaupas. With a first name that’s Satan spelled backwards Natas had piqued our curiosity before even stepping on his board. But then, he went and did some of the nuttiest moves of all time. Footplant 360 flips, 270 lipslides, the roll bar boardslide, and of course the historic fire hydrant spin. You gotta understand that pretty much everything Natas did was NBD. Minds were blown and as a byproduct of his part skaters all over the world immediately started listening to Firehose. Let’s just say Natas didn’t land in Transworld’s 30 Most Influential Skaters list for nothing, and this part was a major factor. And how about those fs wallrides?
