Boards for Bros x Red Bull DIY Project at Sixth Ave Skatepark Nashville

Boards for Bros was stoked to be a part of the Red Bull DIY project at Nashville’s Sixth Ave Skatepark. In March, Red Bull provided some funds and got new and experienced builders to contribute to their outdoor skate spot designing and building new features. The build took a month and also included a donation drive for old equipment, Donors were encouraged to bring their old decks in exchange for brand new, limited edition boards designed by local artist, Matthew Sharer. We were on site with our staff to transform those donations into 35 complete skateboards which will go to Nashville youth who can’t afford their own skateboards. Thank you Red Bull and Sixth Avenue - can’t wait to work together again!
Sixth Ave “guy who does everything” Nate Covington leading the charge to get the spot dry for the Jam.
With the puddles (mostly) gone and lots of Red Bull handed out, everyone was hyped to try out the new spot.
Executive Director Michelle Box was in the middle of it all getting locals to help build skateboards and 35 completes were ready to go in record time so she got to watch the best trick contests go down.
Everybody stopped by the Boards for Bros tent and helped with the build and learned about the projects we do across the country.

Huge thanks to the Christiane and Matson from Red Bull and the whole Sixth Ave crew for letting us be a part of the event and helping us give the gift of skateboarding to youth in Nashville.
