Captain Corporate's Coverage Patrol - January 2005

Here's a heapin' helpin' of skate nerd info for you. Captain Corporate put all the mags into the super gargantuan flux capacitor and out pops January's sketchy skateboard industry popularity contest results. Geoff Rowley is on top for Advertising and Diego Bucchieri is on top for editorial and also wins it overall. From now on every month, Captain Corporate is going to give out the Chief Chill Shots award. This goes to the skater with the largest percentage of lurk/chill shots in the mags. So far the current Chief Chill Shot is Rob Dyrdek with eight chill shots out of eight total coverage items - 100% chillin'. Who cares how much you really skate, the skate world sees you as chill pro (he did have a fakie flip mixed in with a lurk shot in a few DC ads, though). Time for more skate photos. Hit 'em up, Rob! Most chill shots overall is Mark Appleyard with 15 but at least he's logged 51 skate photos to go with it - that's only 29% kickin' it. View the full coverage reports right here. Most published photographer this month was Mike Burnett. Check out the photo geek rankings here. Thanks to Automatic Mag for mentioning all this crap I track in their latest issue. Thrasher Skater of the Year, Chris Cole, remains on top of the Coverage Patrol list for all time.
