Lean more about Paul Schmitt in this newspaper article about him. Years ago when Schaefer and I started doing the Damn Am contests, we lost our ass financially and were cutting things back. Paul wrote us a gargantuan super sized collosal check with no strings attached - not a loan or for part ownership or anything. He simply felt skateboarding needed a contest series like the Damn Am and wanted to make sure we kept it going no matter what. The Damn Am is going strong today and Paul is directly responsible for that.
