Vert Skaters Killed It, Not In A Good Way
Posted by Rob, Saturday, March 21, 2009 1:09 PM
We allocated $25,000 for the prize purse on the U and we put double that into relayering the ramp. How much more can you do? What does it take to get the top vert skaters to come to a normal skateboard shindig? The only reason there were even 10 people in it was because some were locals. Meanwhile, nearly 90 street pros show up from around the world to have a good time and skate with their friends, many of them paying all their own expenses. They have nothing that the vert skaters seem to need to get them to come to a contest: TV, candy bar sponsors, soda pop tours, pogo sticks, etc. When the forensic scientists sit down to try to determine what officially killed vert, they will find out it was not a homocide, it was a suicide. Vert skaters killed vert. How sad. Here are the the Vert Finals Results.
