Skateboard Nerdery
Back in 2005, I created this over the top skateboard nerdy database where I could enter everything going on in my favorite magazines while I read them. I logged photographers, the companies, the skaters, the tricks they were doing, and the spots they were doing them at. Lately, Stalker Steve has been helping me keep up with it. Using this mountain of information generated, I decided to make a list of all skaters that were in the mags in 2006 that have not re-appeared since. Out of these 268 skaters that somehow disappeared from the skateboard industry, there are quite a few interesting ones. Some had careers blown away by partying like Graham Bickerstaff and LJ, some were just kinda gross, some turned contest-pro using the Dew Tour like Jason Barr, and some, like Gino Iannucci, choose to remain low key. Get the full list here along with the most clicked on skater profiles in the last 90 days: Skateboarding's Popularity Contest Results. It's amazing that Rodney Mullen is still the most viewed skater profile by far. There are lots of other surprises in that list, too.
