Converse CONS Aaron Herrington Shoe Release Day Coverage

Posted on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 by Chris

The donuts were fresh, the coffee was hot and so was the weather, but we powered through it for Aaron Herrington's CONS Sumner colorway release last weekend. Converse hooked it up with some free shoes, so we gave the first person in line a pair, and then held a Best Trick contest, where the winner also got themselves laced up. Check out all the highlights and make sure you pick up a pair of the new Sumners and all Converse product at SPoTTampa.com.com/Converse.

The shoes you see before you are the Aaron Herrington colorway for the Converse Sumner shoe. Since Converse is such a great supporter of SPoT, we hosted a day filled with free skating, free donuts/coffee and shoes to give out for you wonderful people.
Frank Branca, SPoT's main filmer is always at every event, covering it phenomenally. Make sure to check his edit out above!
Eric McKenney was here bright and early at 7am getting you food and branding the hell out of the park. The coffee was not as full after he got into it.
Free Donuts! Converse Crispy Creams. Triple C’s.
Converse sent us some shoes to give out during the day. First pair out was to the first person in line. Bricen Bangs was at here at 5am so he could be first. All he had to say was “donuts” and he got his sneaks.
Bricen @necirbsgnab = laced up!
The park was open, people were skating and the donuts were lit.
Sterling Gainer was here right as the park opened up, practicing his Heelflips over the Converse barrier. This is the obstacle we were hosting the best trick over.
Derick Wynn - FS Shuv down the stairs. Derick is on our SPoT/Converse Flow Team and was ripping all day in those new spicy sneaks.
Wesley Box going Backside at the Quarterpipe. Nice sticker placement.
Eric got in his skating before he hosted the Best Trick contest. Nolle BS Flip. Frank on the creep getting those good angles.
Keenan Lewis - Wallride Yank to Fakie.
Tim
Tim Geiger, The Maintenance Commander, is better at skating than he is at maintenance; and he destroys maintenance. Kickflip Noseslide.
This Converse Barrier is great. It's light and very skateable. We moved it throughout the park and skated in new creative ways. Bricen Bangs FS Boardslide off of the box.
Jordi Zapata coming through with a Kickflip BS Tailslide on the barrier.
Eric was in the park calling out tricks or obstacles to skate. Jordi was following orders and earned himself a new pair of Converse.
Christiana Means goes faster than most of the boys at the skatepark. FS Disaster.
Brandon Starr thought it was "shoe free" day, but we're not mad at him. Especially with this FS 5-0 in socks.
Jereme Knibbs has been on the move as of this year, and barely in Tampa. But it looks to be paying off as he learns these FS Inverts, hand fully on coping.
Jereme made sure to save some energy for the best trick. FS 360 over the barrier.
Tyler Wolford BS Flip bump to barrier.
I’d bet my life that Jordi could kick flip into anything. This Kickflip Fastplant proves my point.
Derick Wynn has got one of the best No Comply’s in the Gulf Coast. No Comply over. Could this be an NBD?
Marse Farmer skates anything in sight. FS Bigspin WOW!
We took a vote and the people decided they wanted to grind the barrier too. So we held another best trick with the barrier sideways. Tyler Wolford BS Tailslide Shuv.
Tim
Tim did a number of tricks on the thing frontside, backside and those flip ins. Kickflip FS Lipslide.
Jordi - Kickflip FS Nose. That has to be one of the best looking tricks.
When did everyone learn how to kickflip into things? Marse executing a textbook Kickflip K Grind to end the best trick.
Thats a wrap! Jordi and Marse killed it the hardest out of everyone and thus we have our two winners. Your prize is free Aaron Herrington Sumners.
Tim
To end the day, we grilled up some burgers and hot dogs to give out.
Our Commander In Chief, Brian Schaefer and the kids were hyped on the day. Thank you for coming out and another thank you to Converse!
