Maloof High Ollie Challenge and Vegas Push
Location
- S.L.A.T.E. at Mandalay Bay, Level 2
- 12pm – Registration and Practice
- 3pm – Contest begins
- The bar starts at 36 inches
- Everyone skates in order
- Each skater gets 5 tries at the given height to advance to the next height
- After 5 tries, that skater is eliminated
- The bar is raised in 1 inch increments after all riders have either made their ollie or have been eliminated
- When the last 10 skaters are left, Qualifiers stop and the 10 advance to the Finals the following day
- Thrasher's Sweetheart Dance is at Moon at the Palms starting at 9pm
- 2pm – Practice
- 3pm – Contest begins
- The bar starts at 40 inches
- Everyone skates in order
- Each skater gets 5 tries at the given height to advance to the next height
- After 5 tries, that skater is eliminated
- The bar is raised in 1 inch increments after all riders have either made their ollie or have been eliminated
- 1st: $10,000, 2nd: $2,500, 3rd: $1,500, 4th: $1,000
- The contest format, setting, and obstacle all meet Guiness World Record requirements. In addition, these rules must be followed:
- For any ollie to be eligible, both feet must land on the board and you have to continue rolling for several feet and come to a controlled stop.
- You cannot touch your board with your hands.
- No part of your body, hands or feet, may touch the ground before rolling away for several feet and coming to a controlled stop.
- The skateboard and all parts must be standard and commercially available, unmodified items.
- The board may not touch the bar during the jump.
