SPoT Road Trip: Jacksonville and Luke's Wedding

Posted on Monday, April 20, 2015 by Chris

Growing up, getting married, having children and a family - it’s the American dream. Well, maybe not for all of us. It was however for two members of our SPoT family; Luke Pallone and his lovely wife Devin who have been a part of the Skatepark of Tampa for quite some time now. In light of their tying of the knot, we decided to pack up the van with our road crew and make a trip out of it. Along the way we had some fun, ran into some trouble, got to skate, party, and have one hell of a time together. Lucky for you, we documented the whole thing just for you guys. Be sure to check the edit by Frank and photo’s from Marino to experience the trip with us. Congratulations again to the newly married Mr. and Mrs. Pallone. We love you guys! - Eric McKenney

Eric McKenney loaded up the van with some SPoT family and employees heading to Kona in Jacksonville to check the scene out before the Florida Bowl Riders Jam and Hall of Fame. After that we suited up to attend our good homie and face of Case of the Mondays, Luke Pallone’s wedding in Gainesville the following day. He’s been working at the park for years now so almost everyone was going there.
A good look of the squad inside the van. The least packed its been for a trip in a while. Trust me.
Our first pit stop was Zaxby’s. Somebody from the drive thru bought us all drinks because she loves skateboarders! The shit you see on the road is ever so vast.
The van was having some problems on the road with its brakes. We pulled over and thankfully Josh Knight was an expert on cars so he took a look. Unfortunately, it was determined that we needed to find the nearest car parts place and replace the break pad.
Treshan helping replace the brake pad. Too bad not even 5 miles down the road we had to get it towed. Seems that the axle was slowly breaking and we were lucky the tire didn’t fall off! Thank god we had someone looking over us that day.
Vigilante tennis court skate session while we waited for the rental cars to arrive. Eric with a FS Crook on this bench we found.
Uncle Sam fearlessly ollies over this mini picnic table blindfolded.
We got our rental cars and were back on schedule. First stop was Kook Town; this DIY in Jacksonville spot that Mike Peterson from Block Skateshop took us to.
Eric with a FS 5-0 on this steep QP.
Treshan has got a GOOD Rock n’ Roll.
Pat
SPoT Maintenance Pat Daly with a BS Smith. Getting his clips too!
Mike Peterson shut down the session with a FS Blunt off the side of this super steep quarter pipe.
Final stop, Kona! This was my first time here and its a lot to take in! Huge park with everything you could imagine to skate. The old school concrete course for sure was the highlight. Chris Reitz getting a taste. He just came back from a knee injury and we are all hyped to see him back on the board.
The infamous Kona snake run. Probably bombed this thing 20+ times.
SQUAD.
Right as we are pulling up to our hotel in Gainesville for Luke’s wedding, we see this hill bomb right outside of the front door. The whole squad took advantage of this thing. It's much gnarlier than it looks. Make sure to check the edit and see it in action.
Our good homie and SPoT staff member, Luke Pallone tied the knot with his childhood girlfriend, Devin. So stoked for these two.
The whole squad was looking sharp!
When Jack Loktu isn't checking in product back in Innetech, he's looking dapper at people's weddings. Watch out...he might be at yours next.
Josh Wilson and Alex Sherrer. “Gentlemen"
Derick Glancy, one of the groomsmen.
The Bosses!
Everyone knows how to clean up well! You’d never guess we worked at a skateshop.
Yonis Molina enjoying the free beer at the reception.
Amelia and Cameron. Blonde Ambition.
Justin Zaragoza brought the grill of course.
Some Jitt mischief.
The cake was delicious and looked great...we can’t blame them if they don’t know can we?
Another big congratulations to Luke and Devin!
A nice cake in the face ends the night. Well, at least that's all we can show you...
