A Random Saturday Night at SPoT
Words and Photos by Rob Meronek
It was nice to see how many girls are skating at the Park lately. I hit a few of them up for some photos along with some other
random locals and new friends I made in the Park yesterday after the
School's
Out Jam Contest.
Adrian
Mallory also happened to show up and skate for a while. Check out Adrian's part in the Slaughterhouse video that we will be
showing for free here
at the Park on Saturday, June 25th at 8:00 pm. See you here and maybe we'll get a photo or two.
Rob
Ronnie Battles has only been skating for about a year, so his frontside flips still look a little mob, but so did yours when you first started, so don't hate, unless you frontside flipped your way out of the womb, Cool Guy

Nikki Jacobsen-Welch floats frontside over the hip in the bowl

This is Brandon Baker doing a boardslide on the bump to flat bar on the main street course
|
This is Christian Baker doing a kickflip rock and roll to fakie on the kiddie course quarter
|
I never got this kid's name. He's learning 5-0's on the kiddie course quarter
|
Philipa Harrison has a mini-ramp at her house, but still spends a lot of time skating at the Park. Since day one, girls have always skated here for free. This is a frontside grind in the bowl
|
Melanie Lucia is ripping on the street course and in the bowl. This is a frontside grind in the bowl
|
Laura Locher is an old friend of mine that just moved back to Tampa. She just started skating four days ago and is just coming up on the basics of pumping and turning and seems to be picking it up pretty quick. The vert ramp is a nice place to learn stuff like that
|
Ashley Harrison is just one of several girls that regularly skate at the Park. She's learning the basics of tranny in the back warehouse on the micro-mini with the help of the wall
|
It's definitely random that Adrian Mallory showed up on Saturday. This is a backside hurricane in the bowl
