Thanks etnies and Skate Campers

Thanks to etnies for hooking all the SPoT Skate Campers up with a nice bag of goodies. Imagine trying to get a crew like this to all ollie at the same time. It didn't quite work out. Thanks for coming to Skate Camp ya'll! The next camp is on August 17 and you can sign up online right here.

Camp Stamp

This Friday is another Super Session Day Camp. You can leave a $25 deposit and sign up here while there is still room. The other half is due when you drop off Little Timmy on Friday morning at 9am. Timmy won't just skate all day, he/she will learn all kinds of things about skateboarding such as how the Shop works, what exactly we're all doing back here in Innetech, what beamin' is, and more.

Learning From Beginners

The skate campers were on some boardslide lessons with Alex when I walked through the Park just now. I found it amazing how each one of them takes a different approach to learning skateboarding. Next time you're at a skate park, take a minute to watch a bunch of new kids and how they learn. Maybe it will remind you to re-think some of the ways you approach learning a new trick. It sure got me thinking and sometimes laughing which is always good. Check out a few photos and sequences of these tykes: Boardslide Lessons with the Skate Campers.

Only a Parent Can Love This Footage

Alex is spending the entire week with a pile of Skate Campers. They don't just skate all day. They learn about all the grown up stuff that goes on here at SPoT like working in the Shop or shooting photos for online. Today Alex went over assembling completes with them. I was there for half an hour and it made me feel like I needed to go back and apologize to my kindergarten teachers. Nice kids for sure, but they all got mad ants in the pants. Sign up for the next Skate Camp at SPoT before it fills up at skateparkoftampa.com/camp.

Letters from Camp

This week, the skate campers have taken over the Park. Here they are invading my office while they get a behind the scenes tour of all the grown up bid'niss and boring stuff that goes on at SPoT. Luke's quote from right here was, "Maybe I'll wait until I'm like 15 to drop in on the vert ramp." There's nearly 20 skate campers here all week. Tomorrow we're having a full blown photo shoot with rocket ollies and Mogolian kick mania.

Skate Camp on Monday

There are still six out of 20 available spots left for next week's SPoT Skate Camp that starts on Monday morning. Sign up at skateparkoftampa.com/camp.

When Santa's Gone, Wizard Takes Over

A few days after Christmas, what's the status on the kiddies? They've worn the batteries out on all the gadgets, beaten all the new video games they got, done skid marked the undies from grandma, mowed down all the Christmas cookies...what else is left? Send them to Wizard Smoke's Skate Camp. It's on December 27th. You can sign up online and get the full details here. They're occupied with Wizard from 9 to 5 just like pops in the cubicle. Here's a small sample of what goes on at Skate Camp.

See Tyke Skate. Skate, Tyke, Skate

If you're a tyke, or a parent that needs to entertain a tyke, there's Skate Camp at SPoT on December 20th presented by Element and run by Wizard Smoke. While you're on the keyboard in the office all day, tyke is on the skateboard on the street course which includes lunch, lessons, a tour of all that goes on at SPoT, and more. Potty training issues? No problem, we will have take a poop lessons, too. Sign up online. I have the opposite problem on my hands. I have no tyke, yet I need one to join in on the entertainment at the new Children's Museum downtown where I live. Adults must be accompanied by a child. How can I borrow or rent a tyke for like two hours? Hmm. Maybe I'll recruit one from Skate Camp. Here's a small sample of what goes on at Skate Camp:
