Thanks to etnies for the free skate sessions and bringing the team to skate with everyone. I've got a few photos and sequences here: etnies Free Day Benefiting Boards for Bros 2013.
Free Day Saturday with the etnies Team Benefiting Boards for Bros
Posted by Rob, Friday, March 15, 2013 11:49 AM
Tomorrow from 10am to 3pm, it's free skating at SPoT with a hardgoods donation to Boards for Bros! You can thank etnies for that. The etnies team will be here skating with you, too. Nick Garcia, Tyler Bledsoe, Jose Rojo, David Reyes, Aidan Campbell, Albert Nyberg, Barney Page, and Axel Cruysberghs will be here warming up the street course for Tampa Pro coming up the weekend after that. Get a preview of the ripping along with some nice discounts on etnies stuff if you have a hardgoods donation for Boards for Bros. Hardgoods are any used boards, wheels, or trucks. We take all these used parts all year long, assemble them at the end of the year, then donate them to kids in local neighborhoods around SPoT. See you here tomorrow!

Free Skating After Christmas
Posted by Rob, Monday, December 24, 2012 12:19 PM
We're closed for Christmas tomorrow, but our gift to you is free skating the day after Christmas. We open at 10am. See you here to skate off the holiday weight!
Over the weekend, we did another Boards for Bros distribution in the local neighborhoods around SPoT. All year long, we collect used skate parts from everyone in the Shop. Several times per year, we all get together and form an assembly line to put the boards together. We piled them into Clem's truck and drove around town to give them out. Porpe's got some photos: Boards for Bros Christmas Distribution 2012.

Detroit: Depressing and Amazing at the Same Time
Posted by Rob, Sunday, June 24, 2012 10:52 AM
When I first got to Detroit and saw the miles and miles of run down neighborhoods and abandoned buildings, I was amazed that it reminded me of parts of Cuba I visited. How can this happen in America? I learned a lot walking through these neighborhoods and talking to some residents. I know everyone says skateboarding is the shit, but after learning about this scene in Detroit and what skateboarders are doing there, you really understand that this skateboard thing and the culture of it is truly something special. Here are some photos and words: Detroit: Depressing and Amazing at the Same Time.
Boards Don't Put Themselves Together

The SPoT Staff had another volunteer assembly line for Boards for Bros last night. Thanks for all your contributions that will allow us to give away all these boards at the end of the year. Get more information on Boards for Bros here.
Cuba: If You Don't Know, Learn

Three years ago, we brought Boards for Bros to Cuba with the help of international homie, Tomas. He recently was back on the island where skateboarding is thriving over all the hardships the Cuban people face. They've even started their own version of ATL's Foundation. Look at that logo sketched on the wall. We are honored. We'll be back in your country soon, friends.

Santa's a Little Stoney

T4PREZ was Santa this time where Skatepark of Tampa's charity, Boards for Bros, did another distribution on Christmas Eve. Thanks to everyone who helped build boards and contributed parts all year long. We're going bigger in 2012. See Chris Nieratko's prediction number three right here.
Merry Christmas

Yesterday the Boards for Bros crew gave away over 100 skateboards to kids in the roughest neighborhoods in Tampa. There is no doubt about it when they say that it is better to give than to receive.
